Hi Friends,
Waking up to the panoramic view of the turquoise sea with the sound of the waves is really a, dream come true blessing, and one of the amazing Maldivian experiences. I am back with second part to share some information that may help you if you are planning your trip to Maldives and to share the real Maldives clicks. Our Maldives diary is not going to have a day wise plan and itineraries as its completely relaxing trip with lazy plans which include some photo-shoots, exploring the island and some snorkeling activity.
Day 2: Relaxing day
Waking up to the ocean views and absorbing the view, we quickly realized that it’s the breakfast time and quickly freshened up and headed towards restaurant. The breakfast had good number of options to explore. After having the breakfast and spending some time near the swimming pool we walked towards our villa, while heading to the pool a quick view of the swing and a seating arrangement in the middle of the ocean caught our sight.
The landscape and the nature there always had that beauty that anyone would love to spend some time there. Though it was sunny, we didn’t hold ourselves from going towards the seating area and quickly grab some pics.
After few clicks, we headed to our villa for some relaxation and later we freshened up and headed to the reception to inquire regarding the snorkeling that was included in the package. From reception, we were directed to the snorkeling center to collect the details which are mentioned below.
Snorkeling details shared:
- Snorkeling kit: Mask, fins and life jacket
- Time slot shared: 3:00 PM (Initially the time allotted was 9:00AM later re-scheduled to 3:00 PM)
- Snorkeling duration: 1 hour
- Note: In the resort where we stayed snorkeling kit was charged per day, therefore we can make best use for 24 hours for people who are good at snorkeling and love to do.
On collecting the information, we moved towards our villa and by evening 5:30 PM we were all set to capture the wonderful ocean blue landscape in our camera. Enjoying the sunset in a private island, surrounded by palm and coconut trees, crystal blue sea and a walk in soft white sand was like living the dreams.
After clicking the snaps and watching wonderful sunset our feet were en-routed to our villa to absorb the evening and move to dinner. As we were vegetarian, we didn’t go for the sea food option. Though the vegetarian option for Asians was very less, the fruit basket did balance the dinner. It was 10:30 pm when we reached villa and we spent some time in the shore walking.
When we reached the villa after the walk, there was something that holded us to spend time in balcony facing the ocean. It was the moment that I always wanted to feel and experience. The buzzing waves and calm night was so motivating me to dream and work for it. Although it was too late in the night while hitting the bed, but the quality time spent was one amongst the beautiful moment in life.
Few points that help you to plan the Maldives trip:
- Make sure to make the bookings in advance.
- Do confirm if the deposits are mandatory to make for the resorts booked.
- Give a shot to book the resort that is near to the airport which would avoid the travel time to the resort.
- Make sure to book the resort which is Asian populated if you are big time foodie and if you cannot balance food with fruits.
It was an activity day, and my heart was pounding very fast as we were nearing the snorkeling time. I was in a dilemma where I couldn’t understand if I was excited or tensed, tensed because I had no clue of swimming. For a person who has never even tried swimming, this was something daring though I had life jacket. I decided to do just not because it was daring but was also one of the bucket list item.
While heading for lunch we were all set to snorkeling as the time given was 3:00 PM. As we didn’t want to move with activity immediately after lunch, we relaxed for some time near the pool and then headed to snorkeling center to collect our snorkel kits before boarding the boat that would take us to the snorkeling point. As we boarded the boat, I was thrilled and scared. The confidence that I had was that hubby knew swimming and we had diving experts with us in case of any emergency 😉.
As we reached middle of ocean we were slowly asked to jump to water, as most of them knew swimming everyone jumped and I was waiting experts to guide me, as and when I was guided I was taken to the marvelous world of various types of colorful fishes swimming around with their flexible body. As I followed the coach, I realized that I was moving around without any help. Though initially I had issue with breathing but once when I adapted myself it was worth experiencing. After an hour we were asked to get back to the boats. With the hardened tooth due to the saltiness and the precious snorkeling moments we headed to our respective villas and was resting and enjoying the last sunset in the land of paradise.
We headed to dinner by 8:30 PM as we had to pack for the first sea plane that was departing. Getting back from dinner we hit the bed with an alarm for early morning wake-up.
A wonderful morning which was waiting for us to wake up to show the last glimpse of Maldives. After freshening up, we headed to restaurant where we were served our breakfast. After breakfast, with heavy heart and bunch of memories we said a goodbye and thanks to the wonderful Maldives :).
