Hi Friends..
Today I am here with the yummy experience of MTR 🙂
It was first time and quite surprising for me when I heard about the famous brand and hotel MTR. It was a very sunny afternoon and I was starving. That is when I heard of MTR from my dad, one near botanical garden “Lal bagh” and it’s a rare situation where my dad is fine waiting for lunch so late. The thing that shocked me again, was why we need to wait in such a branded and famous restaurant.
MTR is the most iconic and legendry Indian vegetarian restaurant, MTR stands for Mavalli Tiffin Room. When I hear about MTR, the first thing that comes to mind is white board and red writings, but the picture was entirely different, the hotel looked very simple as any hotel with no grand looks.
Though it was afternoon 2:30 PM when we reached the hotel, there was a big queue for the lunch and it was along with counter number, the seats were allotted. We had 6 people before us and within no time there was a very long queue behind us. We opted for a thali meal. Our thali meal on that day had Masala dosa, poori, khurma, saagu, chutney, 2 sweets, bisibelebath, raitha, pappad, pickle, white rice, sambar, rasam, curd rice, grape juice, ice-cream and Paan (preparation combining betel leaf with areca nut). And this thali meal is unlimited.
After the yummy meal, I realized the reason behind the crowd. They are known for their serving quality food since 1924. I would recommend experiencing this at least once.
Below link will give a brief understanding about MTR and also its various branches:

At the end of the day it’s qualitative time and food that matters 😉
Happy blogging 🙂
